Plastic Design Student Awards

We invite students who work with plastics as part of their projects to take part. Submit a project for the chance to win a prize of DKK 20,000.

Plastindustrien invites students who work with plastics as part of their studies or projects to participate in the Plastic Design Student Awards 2025.

All projects involving plastics are welcome.

You can submit an assignment or project that you have already completed during your studies.

The project must demonstrate an innovative use of plastic materials and be realistic and applicable in practice. The winners will be selected by an independent judging panel.

Awards Show

As in previous years, the best projects will be celebrated at an awards ceremony.
This year, the winners were celebrated at a reception and awards ceremony in the garden of the Designmuseum Denmark during 3daysofdesign.

About the competition

Groups and individuals can apply with projects related to plastics within areas such as design, objects, construction, or architecture. Applications can be submitted in Danish or English.

When submitting your project, please include:

  • A project description / summary (max. 1000 words)
  • A visual presentation with photos / mockups
  • Name and contact information
  • University and field of study
  • Any additional material you find relevant

Subject line: "Student Awards"

A jury panel will select one or more winning projects, which will be awarded DKK 20,000.

Criteria:

  1. The project must demonstrate innovative use of plastic materials in response to one or more of the 10 innovation challenges identified in the Planetary Plastic Pavilion project (see below).
  2. The project must be realistic and feasible in practice.
  3. The project must clearly explain how it makes a difference and for whom.
  4. Considering the academic level, the winning projects must meet academic standards and challenge current perspectives on the use of plastics within architecture, design, and construction.

Projects will be evaluated by relevant industry stakeholders.
